During my recent trip to Perú, I visited the three educaional institutions with which Fundación Educación cooperates. At TECSUP, a technical college, I was welcomed by its director, Otto French, the person responsible for scholarships, and by numerous scholars. TECSUP educates skilled personnel for the Peruvian industry. Hence, when designing the education programs and creating internships, it closely cooperates with various industrial enterprises in Perú. Within the TECSUP scholarship program, Fundación Educación takes care of those candidates who despite excellent academic track record do not qualify for a student loan due to the lack of guarantees.
At the renowned Universidad Católica (PUCP) I met the person responsible for scholarships, an alumni, who today works within the universities administration, and various scholars. The PUCP is Perú's leading university and it is grateful for the support it receives from Fundación Educación in the area of scholarships.
Finally, during a breakfast meeting, I got to know the person responsible for scholarships at the Universidad de Lima as well as numerous scholars. Many of these told me that due to the lack of financing they would not have been able to ever enroll at university, and that they were very grateful that thanks to the scholarship of Fundación Educación they were now able to study at a leading private university of their country.
