New course of action at the CESE: Thank you, Cristina - Welcome, Marcela!

Marcela Yepes Rendón takes over the presidency of the Colombian alumni organisation.

Within the Gran Familia Fundación Educación, changes are not farewells, but new opportunities to continue growing together. Today we would like to announce a change in the leadership of CESE, the alumni organisation of Fundación Educación in Colombia. From now on, Marcela Yepes Rendón takes over the leadership, succeeding Cristina Duque Jaramillo.
Thank you Cristina!
Our warmest thanks to Cristina, whose energy, commitment and vision over the past five years have left a profound mark on our program and many of our scholars. Among her great achievements are the implementation of the Brecha Digital program during the pandemic, which allowed us to support our students at a time with many challenges, and the management of two additional scholarships funded thanks to the contributions of Fundación Educación alumni. The so-called “Compromiso de Honor” is the local engine of our program.  In addition to leading CESE, Cristina was able to balance her work with her successful career in the Bancolombia Group and, in parallel, with the arrival of her children. A true example of determination, which characterizes Cristina and all our scholarship recipients and graduates! It fills us with gratitude to know that Cristina will continue to support CESE in the future, thus ensuring the continuity and growth of our community.
Welcome Marcela!
We are delighted to welcome Marcela Yepes Rendón, an active and committed member of Fundación Educación since she entered the university as a scholarship recipient. After graduating in Business Administration (EAFIT), she has held various management positions in the areas of marketing, commercial, general management, operations, project coordination, national and international cooperation, entrepreneurship and innovation. Currently, she is an entrepreneur and investor in the tourism, real estate and personal care sectors. We know that, with her enthusiasm, leadership and many new ideas, Fundación Educación in Colombia and CESE will continue to grow stronger and open new opportunities for bright young people and successful graduates. Together with the entire team, we will continue to build a better future through education.
Celebrating a new chapter together!
In April, we will commemorate together 25 years of CESE and 30 years of Fundación Educación in Medellín, a special occasion to look back and celebrate more than 200 success stories in Colombia. The new chapter will lead to more learning and collaboration and trigger further changes in life plans.
