We are very pleased to announce that Jorge Gonzalo Tabares Mesa has become President of the Local Committee of Colombia on February 1, 2021.
Jorge has been closely associated with our program for many years: In his various functions at EAFIT, our partner university in Medellin, most recently as Director of Professional Practices with best connections to the Colombian business community, he has always actively supported our program. For the past year, Jorge has been a member of the local committee. This has allowed him to get to know better our processes and the people who are active in the Foundation.
We are very honored that Jorge has taken over the presidency: Thanks to his great human qualities, his extensive knowledge of the academic and professional needs and prospects of our scholars, his close relationship with EAFIT, where he has been employed for more than 40 years, and good connections with the academic and business sectors of Colombia, we are sure that his contribution will promote the achievement of our goal: We empower talent for change!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Norckzia Ortiz de Navarro for her great commitment and unconditional dedication over the past year as President of the Local Committee. Norckzia has accompanied and shaped our program from the very beginning. She is stepping down as president to be able to devote more time to what she cares about most: supporting our scholars in their academic and personal development. Thank you for everything, Norckzia!
